United Airlines added agentic disruption management to its app.

Airlines are still in the early stages of adopting agentic artificial intelligence (AI), with only 11% of carriers having deployed this technology, according to a report by ATPCO. However, some airlines, such as United and Malaysia Airlines, have already started to use agentic AI in their operations.

United Airlines, for example, has added agentic disruption management to its app, which automatically rebooks passengers if their flight is canceled and puts them on standby for up to three earlier flights. Malaysia Airlines, on the other hand, has launched its Mavis AI assistant, which can handle complex passenger requests and hand off to human agents when necessary.
