International Airlines Group (IAG) reported a net profit of €2.264 million for the first nine months of the year, a 16.3% decrease from the same period in 2025. The company’s revenue totaled €25.808 million, a 2.3% increase from the same period last year.
The decline in profit is attributed to the impact of high fuel prices. However, IAG’s performance remains stronger than its rivals, with Lufthansa’s profits plummeting 35% and Air France-KLM’s profits falling 25% in the same period.
IAG’s CEO, Luis Gallego, highlighted the company’s resilience, stating that “we have reported another resilient quarter, with strong demand for travel across all our markets.” He also noted that the company has achieved an operating margin of 17.7% in the quarter, despite the challenges posed by high fuel prices and disruptions.

The company’s net debt has decreased by €1.728 million, standing at €4.220 million. IAG has also announced a 10% increase in dividend per share and has initiated the final tranche of its €1.5 billion share buyback program.
Gallego expressed optimism about the company’s prospects, stating that “as a result of the actions we have taken, the outlook for the rest of the year and the start of next year is positive.” He added that the company is on track to achieve an operating margin of at least 12% for the full year, within its target range.
